The West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection (WVDEP) is the state environmental regulatory agency for West Virginia. Through its Division of Air Quality, Division of Mining and Reclamation, and Division of Water and Waste Management, it issues permits including air-quality permits for gas-turbine and biomass facilities powering data centers in the state.
