ComEd
Commonwealth Edison Company (ComEd) is the largest electric utility in Illinois, serving approximately 4 million customers in northern Illinois including the Chicago metropolitan area. ComEd is a wholly owned subsidiary of Exelon Corporation. In 2020, ComEd entered a deferred prosecution agreement with the DOJ and paid a $200 million fine over a multi-year bribery scheme involving Illinois House Speaker Michael Madigan.
